The workshop is open to considering rigorous research from economists, historians and political scientists. Fresh PhDs and early career researchers are especially encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The following sub-themes will be especially welcome in the Paris workshop:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conflict and post-conflict<\/li>\n<li>Economic history and development in the region<\/li>\n<li>Labour markets and social policies<\/li>\n<li>Migration and refugees: economic and political aspects<\/li>\n<li>Monetary and fiscal policies in the Arab world<\/li>\n<li>Natural resources and political institutions<\/li>\n<li>Political economy of reforms in the post-Arab spring context<\/li>\n<li>Structural transformation of the economies of the region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Funding.<\/strong> It is hoped that most participants will be able to finance their travel and accommodation from their own institutions, but there will be a small fund available to help those who cannot (particularly PhD students and young researchers).
