The Economic Research Forum is seeking a Managing Director (MD) with a distinguished track record in economic research, management, close knowledge of the Middle East and its economies, and fluency in Arabic and English.<\/p>\n

ERF is an independent, non-profit research networking organization operating in the Arab Countries, Iran and Turkey (http:\/\/www.erf.org.eg<\/a>). It is headquartered in Cairo, with its staff of about 25 and annual operating budget of about US$4 million. Founded in 1993, ERF\u2019s core objectives are to build strong research capacity in the ERF region, to lead and support the production of independent, high quality economic research, and to disseminate research output to a wide and diverse audience.<\/p>\n

The appointment is for up to five years, starting January 2017<\/span>, and is renewable once. The MD is accountable to the ERF Board of Trustees and is responsible for all executive functions: research activities, fund-raising, administrative and financial management, and appointment of all staff. The MD will continue to develop the network\u2019s strategic directions, expand the network of its affiliates, reinforce its links with the academic and policy-making communities, and actively pursue funding for both research programs and the ERF endowment fund.<\/p>\n
