OCEMO Survey on Young People’s Expectations

ocemoThe « young people’s expectations » survey of OCEMO aims at producing the necessary knowledge to guide action. It constitutes part of the “Youth” programme, which, in addition, contains operational actions. One of the most emblematic of these actions is the project MedNC, which is deployed by the OCEMO with the support of the French Agency of Development (AFD).

A preliminary survey was conducted in 2013 in the region of Marrakesh Tensift El Haouz, in partnership with the Moroccan National observatory of human development, and with the technical support of the Directorate of Statistics. This regional survey creates, therefore, an opportunity for the local actors to work towards a regional observatory for young people. Being the first survey of its kind in Morocco, it makes good practice, and is very likely to be replicated within other regions of Morocco, as well as in countries such as Tunisia and Algeria, and far beyond in the other countries of the Mashreq.
