Conformément aux Statuts de Femise, la moitié des 20 sièges sont renouvelés chaque année. En 2008, le renouvellement concernait l'Egypte, Israël, le Maroc, la Palestine, la Syrie et la Tunisie, la Belgique, la France et la Pologne.

Les membres du réseau des pays concernés par le vote de 2008 ont été contactés et les instituts intéressés ont présenté leurs représentants comme candidats. Après compilation des candidatures, il y avait plus d'un candidat pour cinq des neuf sièges et par conséquent ont fait l'objet d'un vote de l'ensemble des membres (une feuille de vote a été envoyée à tous les membres du réseau).

 A l'issue de ce vote, ont été élus :

Egypte: Dr. Ahmed F. Ghoneim, Associate Professor, Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences, Cairo University (new member).

France: Dr. Patricia Augier, Director, Centre d’Economie et de Finances Internationales (CEFI) Université de la Méditerranée (new member)

Maroc: Dr. Lahcen Oulhaj, Professor of Economic Sciences, Université Mohammed V-Agdal Rabat (renewed member)

Palestine: Dr. Mahmoud El-Jafari, Professor of Economics, Al-Quds University, Jerusalem (renewed member)

Tunisie: Dr. Mongi Boughzala Professor, Université de Tunis ElManar (new member).

Belgique: Dr. Kalid Sekkat, Professor, Université Libre de Bruxelles-DULBEA,

According to the FEMISE Status, the Steering Committee is renewed by half every year. This year, we renewed the following: Poland, France, Belgium, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Syria, Morocco and Tunisia. Members’ institutes from those countries have been contacted and interested institutes have presented their representatives as candidates. After compiling the candidates, five seats out of the nine had more than one candidate and hence were put on a voting process (a voting sheet with those 5 seats was sent to all members of the network).
